Baja 90 ATV will not start
#1
2 year old Baja 90 will not start. It turns over, has compression, has spark, and has fuel in the carb. Spark plug is bone dry and I don't think fuel is getting to engine. When I spray a little fuel in the plug hole it ignites. ANY SUGGESTIONS???

If it has sat for a long time possible that the fuel has gelled in the carb or circuit lines. One thing you might try if it has a float bowl drain is open it to see if fuel runs out. It not possible that the floats are stuck and holding the needle seat shut. Try tapping the carb very lightly with a hammer. A brass hammer would be the best but if careful you can use a regular one.

Sorry to bring up a kinda old thread, but Jim when I had a problem with my Baja I contacted them through the phone # on their website... eventually I got the right stuff and it worked out OK. If you haven't already contacted them, I would give it a shot.

Does anyone know about this problem. I have a 2005 baja 90 I bought 3 years ago. It ran great. Its getting harder and harder to start it takes me about an hour a can of starting fluid and jumper cables. But once it's started and warm it runs fine and starts right back up. If it sits not running for more the 1/2 hour its back to not starting. I have spark I have fuel in the carb after cranking for a while the spark plug is dry. I have taken the carb apart and cleaned it it's spotless. Does any one have any ideas I don't want to buy the wrong parts.

Valves tighten with wear, and tighten some more when cold. The first symptom of tight valves is hard starting cold - getting progressively worse over time until eventually it won't start at all. But if you do get it started and warmed up it runs perfect and starts perfect - until it cools back down.
