03 Predator 90 bogging down/stalling
#1
My son's 2003 Predator 90 has always seemed to have an issue of bogging down & stalling after a few minutes of riding. The quad will seem to idle ok but as soon as you give it any gas it will bog down and usually stall. It's as if it has no throttle response. I've changed the plug, gas, fuel filter and nothing seems to correct it. Two years ago I took it to the local dealer who supposedly did a tune up but after a week or so it was back doing the same thing. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It's the accelerator pump. Take the carb off, and you will find a little needle on a spring. What this does is when you hit the throttle, it give a little extra fuel straight to the butterfly for response. That needle sticks and makes the bike flood out when you try to move. Usually you just have to pull it up and clean it, but I used some real fine automotive sand paper and cleaned it first then hit it with some carb cleaner. Good as new.

Awesome, thank you for that advise. Others have messaged me stating that the carb probably needs rebuilt or replaced. Hopefully I get get some free time this week to give this advise a shot prior to the weekend.

90% sure it will work. I have had to do it twice, and my Nephews Polaris 90 Scrambler is doing it now. Just look for the little pin with the spring on it (sometimes has a black boot around it). It should move freely up and down.

The same thing happen to my daughters quad, but I put a new carb on it and it does the same thing. I was wondering if I used a carb with manual choke it that will resolve the problem. Any suggestions, thanks.
