Polaris 90 Brakes Drum
#1
I need to change the rear brakes on my sons 90 and have never done it before. Any tips you can offer or a how to site? The front were easy, but I am not really sure where to start on the rear.

A shop manual is a worthwhile investment if you're planning to do almost anything to that machine. Unfortunately, mine is in storage along with the Polaris...
From memory, you need to remove the right wheel and hub and axle nut.
The axle slides out of the carrier towards the left side and with the brake drum attached, exposing the shoes. If I recall, it's a fairly simple job.
Take a look at the parts fiche over at bikebandit.com. That'll give you a good idea of how things go together.
If yours is anything like ours, you'll find plenty of mud inside there. A few times, I've opened it up planning to change the shoes only to find that a good cleaning is all it needs. If at all possible, replace the rubber seal.. I've re-used ours in a pinch a few times just to get through a weekend, but that just leads to more dirt and wear.
