Default Need Help With Suzuki LT80

I purchased a 2006 Suzuki LT80 about 4 months ago from the original owner. The gentleman assured me that it was in perfect running condition and that he had never had any problems with it. He also assured me that it absolutely had less than 100 hours on it. He said the only thing he had ever done to it was put a new spark plug in it and add oil one time. Well, long story short, when I got it home, the first thing my son and I did was wash it off. When I cranked it up it would run fione but would not go anywhere. I looked and discover that 2 bolts were missing form the gearcase cover and the cover had 2 cracks in it. Well, after it dried out the 80 ran fine. I ordered bolts to replace the ones missing and put JB Weld on the cracks. I also cleaned out the air filter and changed the rearend oil. The next day my son started riding it. That is when I began to notice oil seeping from the bottom of the black engine cover onto the gearcase cover. I took the seat off to check the sparkplug. The spark plug boot was not seated on good and there is oil all around the spark plug. I have also noticed that oil is starting to come out of the bottom of the air intale snorkle. Now the LT80 will only run with the choke on as well. It runs good with the choke on, but as soon as you turn the choke off, it wants to bog down if you give it any gas at all. Could someone please advise me as to what they think my problem or problems are. Obvioulsy, I got took on this one. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I want to get it running right so my son can enjoy it.

First your going to have to take the shroud and plastic off to see where its coming from. Its going to be impossible to tell with the cover on the motor. My LT80 would pop the spark plug boot off occasionally but I just put a new end on the wire....cost me like a $1.50 or something.

......and my LT80 doesnt have rearend fluid......so Im not sure what you changed but I hope you put the right fluid in it.

Welcome to the forums Zeroturner.
I agree w/Aaron that you should remove the motor cover to see where the oil is comming from. Base and head gaskets are the suspect. FYI: the motor plastic pulls out the right side.
Choke: Clean the carb. Prolly something plugging a jet.
Do a compression test.
Let's go from there.
