I have a Eton Viper 90r and have changed the transmission fluid in the past. This time when I went to change the fluid it was milky which I wasn't surprised. My son did go through some deep water and stalled out. After I pulled him out I did hear the belt squeel for a second and then stopped. The machine ran normal after that and had no problems after the squeel. I had the 4wheeler on jack stands, filled it, and let it run for awhile (in gear). I noticed that the overfill tube was dripping fluid. It did seem to stop eventually. The next morning I found a pool of oil that came from the overflow tube. What is going on? I have never had this happen before. Remind you that it swithes gears and runs normal with no problems. Thanks in advance.

 

Maybe you just over filled it? Or it had some oil in the line from being in the water?

 

So you think that it is nothing to worry about?

 

If it keeps doing it Id worry but if it just did it once, right after the change.. Id wait and see if it does it again..

 

If it was to keep doing it, what would be your best guess as to why? Sorry, just my paranoia kicking in.

 

Over filled it maybe? Id guess it got oil in the line from the water being in side(raised the oil level) I cant imagine how pressure could be built up in there to force oil out.

This is normal, if you overfill gear oil, I beleive the 90 takes 110 cc of gear oil. om the clutch cover there is a tab with either 100cc or 110cc.

you and mywifesquad were right. This past Monday I drained the gear oil and did in fact overfilled it. Thanks....and I wonder why my wife doesn't like me "messing with her SUV." LOL thanks guys for all of your help.
