Default Polaris sportsman 90 Carb Leaking

Hi everyone, my drain on the carb seems to have a drip I cannot stop. has anyone used anything on the needle screw to seal it up better. The only the other thing I can think of doing is puting some sort of screw or plug into the tube the a the bottom of the bowl .

Hey, my son's 90 was doing the same thing this spring. I filled it with gas and it started leaking,I tried tightening the screw and blocking the overflow tube (trying to block the overflow WILL NOT work! ) It ended up being the needle and seat in the carb. I replaced them for about 30 bucks and it still leaked (but not as badly) so I adjusted the little metal arm that the needle sits on and it worked great!

So before buying a needle and seat try the adjustment first.

The needle and seat are part of the float assembly, what is happening is the bowl on the carb is filling with gas and the float is supposed to rise and push the needle into the seat to stop the fuel flow. For some reason this is not happening, that is why its coming out the overflow.

Hope this helps! Bob

Oh, Hey! I guess it could be that your float is bad as well! Make sure there is no liquid inside of it!

+1 on the above, also if you take the bowl off to do this you may want to put fuel just into the bowl to see if you have an leak in bowl... could have pitted screw or over flow pipe may have an split in it . if do you can take tygon line[ chainsaw fuel line] and put over tube to seal up split.
