110cc Gio will not start
#1
Hello..i have a gio 110cc mini beast and i cannot get it going.i am a dealer so i have checked the obvious things like fire and fuel delivery. the only thing i can think is perhaps the oil grade 10w-40 may be to thick not allowing for the machine to turn over quickly enough? im baffled with this one...all kill switches are working properly..fuel **** is set to on. any help would be much appreciated.

i got it running...new battery didnt have the capacity to turn over the engine fast enough.anyhow i hooked an old car battery to it and replaced the 10-40 with a synthetic amsoil 4 stroke oil then i adjusted the idle screw on the carb...it was turned in way to far..so i backed it off considerable..maybe a full turn and away it went...go figure

No fuel in the idle circuit and low batt power, that'll prevent it from starting for sure.
yea, a lot of the batts that come with these machines are not very good. Even the brand name ones of the same size and brand new are not really enough batt in really cold weather, or after a long drain.
I have found over the years that I have to replace my snowmobile, tractor and quad batts every year or two. third year is always a gamble, esp if its cold, or you don't use it at least 1-2 a week.
Glad you got it going, perhaps tune the needles now that its running

A reasonable place to start with the low speed mix is 2 turns out, most will run at that setting but you will have to tune it from there to be optimum.
Heres a great read to learn how to tune
If it is running fairly well right now, make sure you count how many turns out it is. Even an 1/8 of a turn makes a diff in throttle response.

p.s.
my everstarts are usually 4 yrs old before i replace them. don't trickle charge them until they're about 3-3 1/2. that's been my average.
