Default Pantera ATV electrical issue

I just bought a used Pantera 90 ATV. It was working but had a carb issue. Somehow when starting it when connected to a battery charger I managed to fry something in the electronics. The 15A fuse toward the front of the machine did blow. I replaced it but there is no lights showing and it won't crank. I did follow the positive lead from the battery to the first round junction it goes to and on the close side it reads 12 volts but on the other side 0 volts. I'm not sure what this round device is. It also has a smaller lead going from it to the wiring pack.

I could use any help you guys can offer on finding the issue. I have no idea where to start to find the issue or to find parts for the ATV.

The "round thing" is connected to the big fat red wire coming off the battery positive terminal? If so that is the starter solenoid, which only connects to the other side (also a heavy wire leading down to the starter motor) when the start circuitry is working. That's not your problem.

The fuse is on the smaller wire, no? That is the path where the problem lies.

You have no lights. Think back carefully. Did you have lights (i.e. headlights) before with the ignition switch on but with the engine stopped? Are you sure? I'm wondering if your headlights are DC powered off the battery, or AC powered off the stator. The latter case would mean that your lights would only work with the engine running. And since this is a new quad, many might assume that lights should work with the engine stopped and jump to the wrong conclusion.

Do you have a meter? After getting the above questions answered the next step is to measure the ignition/start/interlock wiring...

Another thing to try:

Follow that big fat red wire off the battery [+] terminal again to the starter solenoid. Follow the other big fat wire down to the starter solenoid. Identify these two wires at the solenoid...

Set the parking brake, and make sure you are in neutral. This is important. You are about to bypass all safety interlocks and start up the quad. You want your quad to stay put if it should somehow start up...

Turn on the ignition switch and set any kill switches to the run position. Take a screwdriver and short the two posts on the solenoid ID'ed above using the screwdriver shank. Some sparking is OK.

Does the starter crank? Does the quad start up?

I do have a meter. What else should I be checking?

Today I checked the connection from my battery to the battery side end of the fuse that was broken. There was 12 volts there. That lifted my spirits because that isolated half of the electrical system. Then I looked at the key switch connector and noticed that one of the blades had pulled out some. I plugged it back in and the ATV started! Now i'm back to chasing a no idle issue. But that is much better than a fried electrical system!

The issue with the carb is that it would start on starting fluid but not run well on it's own. I was able to get the ATV running a little by feathering the throttle lightly. I removed the carb and then I removed the float bowl and sprayed Berryman's into every orifice I could find and also blew into them. I unscrewed the pilot and air jets. The larger pilot jet is open and I can blow through it. The smaller air jet I can't see through or blow through. Should I be able to pass through the jet from top to bottom. Here is a picture of the jet.

When I put it all back together it would only run on starting fluid, not normally at all. The float bowl seems to be empty. Should refill itself or if I should add some gas to it when putting it back together? Would drilling through the smaller jet with a small drill bit help?

Any other tips for cleaning the carb and getting it running well?
