Default need help on gearbox fill location and info on 15w40

hi, there new member here looking for some info

i picked up a TAOTAO ATA-125d pretty sure it is a loncin engine. 124cc on the head.

the manual talks about the engine oil and the gearbox oil

i think this thing has a wet clutch also and i want to make sure there is oil in the gearbox

how do i fill the gearbox oil or where is the fill plug .i can see and find the engine oil plug with the dipstick on it . but where to fill the gearbox.
also it says to use 15w40 does it have to be special stuff designed for these small engines or is all 15w40 considered the same how about using synthetic is that a good or bad idea any info would be greatly appreciated . the only oil i could find was shell ROTELLA T 15W40
will this work

thanks in advance all reply's will be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you have a wet clutch system and using a synthetic would mess it up big time by...too much slippage between the clutch pads which you would and end up destroying them.

we have a tao tao 150 with the gy6 engine and we used 10w30 for the engine and for the gear box (at the back of the quad centre of axle) just take off the breather and fill from there with gear oil 75w90

If they make it and it says wet clutch compatiable...then I say it is safe to use. I would feel better knowing that they made the lubricant for their brand. I know that I made the mistake on my 84 Honda S which is a wet clutch system and I took it out because I could feel and hear how the engine RPM's increased and my 3wheeler wasn't going anywhere.
