eton rascal no spark
Hey fellas, Maybe someone could show me the thread for this or just tell me what's up with this thing. I've got a 2000 40 cc rascal with no spark. I pulled the cover off and cleaned the coil and pick up. Tested the pick up and it shows good, getting a pulse on the ohm meter anyway. The coil shows open no matter what terminals I test. There are two terms on the coil and the plug wire. Is this thing bad? I figured I'd have seen some kind of resistance across the two terms on the side of the coil but not savy enough to know. Also how do I test the trigger module, I take it that's the little black box with the reostat to set the rev limiter. I've givin the coil the evil eye until someone can tell me different.

I know nothing about this ignition system, but the coil should have a connection to ground from both the primary input, and from the coil output wire.
The first (primary side) should be a really low value less then 1 ohm, the secondary side should read tens of ohms to many thousands of ohms depending on whether a RF suppression resistor is built in.
