Eton viper 90cc
#1
Just bought two Eton Vipers 90cc, need to know how to take off the carb as when I am giving it throttle there is no power could this be starvation of fuel or does the carb need cleaned ?? If so how do i take the carb off to clean it, is it easy to strip the quad etc, new to this stuff !!

When you say "no power" is it bogging, or does it sound like it's cutting out (rev limit)? '05+ have an adjustable CDI (under seat, beside battery), look for a small rotary dial on the back (small screwdriver to adjust). It could be as simple as that being set on too low a setting, limiting the revs.
Beyond that, check fuel filter & petcock before pulling the carb., but no, there's nothing to these little guys. I've had ours down to bare bones and back already, and the kid doesn't even know it exists yet (spit shining his Christmas present).

are these new or used quads? if used, you may want to pull a compression test and look at the clutch adjustment.
if new, look at the clutch adjustment and see where it is set at. i'll send you a PM with the necessary info for the clutch adjustment.

I just bought my kid a new eton viper 90. There doesnt seem to be any sort of cdi rev limiter adjuster anywhere. The engine retards at a very slow speed. On the new viper 90s does anyone know how to remove the limiter?
