FYI: up on the choke is usually on.

thanks for the reply also ment to say after the quad was runing for around half an hour i pushed the choke button down to see what it would do and it cut off, so put the choke back up and just left it there. Theres also a switch that say pri,off and pri again so two pri's and a off anyone know what this is for the switch has always been at off.

 

dont know what the pri is but you shouldn't have to ride with the chole on

I think the chokes off when its at the top its a suzuki lta-50 i have, been trying to look of the net for info but theres nothing its all for the older lt-50

 

Petcock::
It's vaccum operated. Off is on, once the motor creats vaccum. The vaccum opens a dighram and lets the fuel flow.
Pri is prime. It's to fill the carb after being empty. Lets say you clean the carb (and I think you should) the carb will be dry. You would put the petcock on prime to fill the carb then put it back to the off position.
I've never seen a "push down" choke but I can be wrong.
I think it's running with the choke on which points to a good carb cleaning.

Could do it yourself no problem if your handy with a screwdriver, take photos as u could cant really go wrong

just found out up means the choke is off on the lta also how do you tell if theres a restrictor on the quad i know about the screw that you turn to slow it down, but is there another one somewere on the quad its quite slow going up hills.Also i'm going to clean it with a jet wash this weekend should i do anything after i clean it like spray the chain or wheels with anything ?
