ok so i bought a 50cc eton lightning and i was told it had no spark so i am looking at it today and well it has no battery and no starter and well no spark to. so i am trying to kick start it and i have the plug out and no spark. i am at wits end on this. i have tried with the key on and no spark. what can i do?

 

engage the brake. make sure the brake switch is working. this should satisfy the safety interlock. make sure your key is on and the rear tether, if applicable, is working and not killing he spark.

You may need a ohm tester (multi tester at sears about 15 bucks) and check out the switchs/connections Jaster mentioned.
You can also ohm the stator and cdi to see if they are working. Sorry I don't know the correct readings.
Also, make sure the motor is grounded to the frame. If in doubt, make a wire.
