Default Complete Noob, needs quick (general) parts advice

I just picked up a couple of used Kymco Mongoose 50s for my boys. They're in pretty rough, but seemingly fixable condition.

I do all my own auto & truck repair and maintenance, but I don't know a thing, yet, about working on these quads.

I'd appreciate any and all advice! A few questions;

I need parts (brake pads, coil wires, CDI?, filters, etc). Where should I start looking? I'm looking for the best parts for the best price. I don't have any problem buying online.

Do I need to find OEM Kymco parts or are aftermarket (Amazon, ebay) fine? For instance, I've seen OEM coil wires on parts websites for around $30 and I've seen aftermarket coil wires for maybe $15. Does it matter?

It is my understanding that Kymco made or makes some of the smaller quads for Kawasaki and maybe Suzuki. Are the parts interchangeable?

Thanks for the advice!

Welcome to the forums.
Kymco indeed makes machines for Kaw and maybe arctic cat too.
Yes, the parts would be the same.
