Could a bad CDI box cause the regulator catch on fire?

My starter bendix doesn't engage at all - it spins, but doesn't push out to connect with the part that it needs to? what do I need to do?

Is this the 2 stroke or 4 stroke model?

Looks like ebay has starters in the $70. range.

4- stroke, the starter spins counter clockwise but the bendix doesn't come out to grab onto the crankshaft.

Is it the same as a eton starter - it has 2 bolt holes just like the eton?

Really?
I think there are differences. I could be wrong.
A chevy starter has 2 bolts....I'd get a starter that says it's made for your machine.

well, they resemble a polaris more than anything else. i'll have to look around, but i have read where eton is a subcontractor for polaris to build or help build the polaris mini quads kiddie quads. only stands to reason. my eton looks just like the magnum i had. even down the angle of the frame, seat, racks, axle, lights. i realize there may not be that many choices on the amenities, but it looked like a clone to me.

Could be. I remember Lynn saying that the eton cdi's are different than others. And I know that the stators have been a isue w/Polaris. Eton don't have that problem anyways.
