valve adjustmet please help

Default valve adjustmet please help

so I have a question about adjusting my valves on my 50cc honda knock off 1.what should I adjust them to. 2. does it look like they are wayyyy off in these pics I am having issues getting my quad to start and I am thinking this may be why also any tips on doing the adjustment where do I put the feeler gauge am I wrong to think there is a huge gap in this picture the motor is at tdc of the compression stroke aka the its lined up with the t mark and when I move it back and forth the valves dont move at all.

.002-.003 intake valve setting. .003-.004 Exhaust. See if this Honda video helps.

To me my valve looks like it has a giant gap am I looking at the wrong spot to set the gap?

Think you're looking at the valve spring keeper gap.You should have a 10 mm lock nut that you loosen and a square adjuster tip to set the required distance. OPT is correct..I may add does atv run now? may have an bent value if you know for sure your engine is TDC.. an gap seem very very wide..OR values could just be off that much also.

The gaint gap Im seeing in your picture is like OPT said value spring cotter keeper they hold the value spring onto the value stem some the value will have tension on it to move in and out when camshaft rocker pushes down on value stem.

See if this help in I.D.parts..photonumber 10 is the cotters that you are seeing in picture..Same as OPT posted..

Do I gap between #10 to #3 sorry I just gave never worked on quads before just cars

The quad cranks but hasn't started thinking it might be due to the valves have never been adjusted
