It's a fuel delivery problem.
Might as well check the reed. If that's good, I'd get a new carb off of ebay.
69 bucks or so.

You need to remove the reed cage to inspect the reed.
The reed cage rarely goes bad. Look at where the reed contacts the reed cage. Sometimes that surface gets pitted.

i would pull the petcock off the tank and check the pickup screens, see if they are clogged or missing and the actual port is gunked up

Damonsquad.. That was it.... it had a piece if plastic in it . When I pulled the carb off it had fuel coming thru the line so I figured it was good . When I pulled the petcock off and put a little air thru it that piece of plastic popped out . When I put it back together I had FUEL coming out of it . Thanks for all the help lt80 and Damonsquad I'm sure I'll have more questions later but for now it's running good. Lt 80 do you live in Pennsylvania ?

no problem, ive seen those screens really really crusty in the past, either from the ethanol or premix oil, or both, but they will fool you cuz if you check the hose, it leaks fuel, but not enough to keep the float bowl full consistently

where are you in PA? i know jack is wayyyyy far from me. i consider him in a different state lol

I'm right on the md/pa line. My daughter was out running it today and it started acting up again. About 10 sec after I turned the petcock to on instead of pri it ran wide open and hit the power band. Ran like it should. The rest of the time about half throttle and bogging down

sounds like you may be flooding. did you replace any carb parts? i had alot of good experience with the carb rebuild "kit" that comes with the rubber tipped float needle compared to the stock style metal tip.
