Default LT80 only runs with choke on

Alright so I've torn the carb off several times and it looks clean enough to eat off of. When I start the quad I have to choke it and no matter how long it runs, if I take the choke off, it dies. It runs great with it on. I've messed with the idle screw and that doesn't seem to help either. Should I just run it choked and not worry about it?

If you didn't remove the pilot jet and main jet and clean to where you can see daylight through them, especially the pilot jet, that might be the problem.Running with choke only is usually a sign of something still stopped up.

Is this a quad that you have had. Or a quad that you have just bought...Has it sat for a long time. Did you pull and clean both main and pilot jets.

I cleaned both jets. I could easily see through both of them after cleaning. Before cleaning, the pilot jet was clogged up. I've owned this quad for a short time.

You can try boiling the carb. That's helped some ppl.
What's the compression?

How do I check compression? Like I said, I'm pretty new at this.

A compression gauge. It screws into the spark plug hole.
Maybe your local auto parts have a rental.

This thing is driving me crazy. Before it ran great with the choke on. We let it sit for two weeks and now it dies as soon as you touch the throttle. I don't see how that carb got gummed up in two weeks. Is that possible? Am I going to have to take it off again?

Did you change the fuel filter? Also check the fuel lines to make sure they are good and not collapsing had one that would run great till you gave it gas then realized the lines were collapsing. Ethanol can cause issues we never think about how long it's been sitting in our gas cans.
