Default Child safety engine cut out

How does the engine cut switch at the back of my sons quad work? If I expose the wires, would joining them together or keeping them apart override the switch?

On most of atvs just tie together to bypass the safety switch. The plunger in the switch provides contact to both wires completing the circuit. Once you pull the safety plug it cuts ignition.
