Well I've been trying to check on the starter and these foot pegs have been in the way. So for all of you at home, it's easy to do and I'll help you out. I stood the quad up on the rear handle so I could easily access the bottom of the quad. Then I used a hacksaw blade and put a rag over the end and cut it.
It took a while (10 min) but it was very easy to do. After I cut it I got a piece of solid round metal bar (3/4") and tapered down the ends. The 3/4" bar is a bit loose so I think it's closer to 7/8". So after doing that I cut the bar to length and inserted it. I tried to put the bar into one of the foot pets originally but noticed it would only go in 3 inches. I noticed a welding burr inside and used a round file to file it down and have the bar slide in completely.
yes this picture was after the footpeg was cut but just wanted to show you what I used.
That's nice of you to show that.
Only things I do different is that I use a sawzall and I make the support a lil different (same but different). lol
Thank you.
Only difference is:: I lathe down a 1" round x 5" long aluminum piece to join together instead of a rod. I leave a 3/16 ring in the middle so the piece don't float (that's why his piece is so long).I then cut 1/4" off of one side of the footpeg to allow space for the ring.
IMO, the guy did a fine job.
