I just got this kids quad off my neighbor he thought it just needed a battery. So i got a new battery i hooked it up but when i go to start it nothing happens it just clicks can someone help me with this?

 

Have you set any safety "lock outs," on some bikes the brakes need to be on when starting. If you think these are OK, get a 12v test lamp and connect one lead to the starter motor "live" terminal and the other to earth, press the starter button, if the solenoid clicks but the lamp doesn't light, you have a faulty solenoid, if the lamp does light but the starter doesn't turn, you have a faulty starter motor.

 

where is the click coming from? starter itself or starter relay?

 

It sounds like it mite be coming from the relay

 

So i got it to crank over but won't start it looks like its not getting a spark

 

I changed out the CDI relay and its still seems like its not getting a spark.

 

seems like? How did you go about checking spark?

 

I pulled the sparkplug out and put it ground an cranked it over no spark
