Default LT80 Oil pump/thumb throttle

New member here, had a few scans of the forum and looks like lots of great info and members. We just got an Lt80 and I want to lighten the pressure on the thumb throttle, aside from the pulling the lever spring and lubing up the cable will removing the oil injection pump help too? I read it somewhere that it would but I don't see how it could.
Thanks in advance..

Nope...no help at all as the pump is driven of the primary clutch and not via the throttle. What I did was snip a few coils from the carb slide spring...but only a few as it's critical that there is enough spring force to close that slide upon release. That will significantly reduce the throttle pull effort.

Another popular option is a twist throttle conversion...might be worth looking into...

Thanks, you confirmed what I was thinking. I'll play around with the slide spring. Cool little bikes. My 7yr old put about an hour on it yesterday and had a pretty sore thumb at the end but loves it. First machine for her

We bought a thumb extender and my son loves it! Makes it so much easier to make it through a race without his thumb being sore!

I put a twist on my daughters machine years ago. One of my biggest mistakes.
Cable routing can make a huge difference.
Man up lil man. hehe

Lots of options...cheapest/easiest is to simply cut the carb spring down...

Pulled the spring out of the top throttle assembly and re lubed the cable, I think its a bit better. She's gonna be riding for the next three days with me so I'll bring some snips for carb slide as well incase..

"my son said it was the best mod so far...At least as far as he could tell just holding it in his hand waiting for the machine to be together"
