Default Lt80 drive belt

Evening just had my lads quad apart as the rear end locked up.... Always wondered why it only had one screw in the air box. Some how managed to get into the rear clutch after 2yrs of owning it..

How much slack should be in the belt?

Is it time for a new one ?

Belts wear forever. I highly doubt you need one.
As far as the slack, turn the rear clutch and get the belt up where it belongs.
Of course you know to service the clutchs while in there.

Front: You need to check the rollers for flat spots. If the grease got hard, there may be damage. Never know till in it. FYI: I only use a dab of grease and that's to hold the roller in place.
Rear: Make sure the bearings are good. Rough up the contact pads slightly to break the glaze. Squeeze the sheave together to make sure the sliding face travels easy.

And another question...

Picked up a complete variator.. Just went to fit it but noticed that the coller/spacer that slides through the middle is shorter than the original one
Do I need to fit the shorter one and fit an extra washer on the outside ?

You should just run the longer spacer.
But, yes, the short one needs the washer (it's a special washer).
