I ordered a different reed cage and another carb to try in case I find a JR50 and repeat this project. It's probably to big at 20mm but it adjusts on the right side, the bowl doesn't protrude past the mounting flange and it's cheap! It'll bolt right on this LT so I can play with it while I search for a JR.

That's good to know. Never had anything but stock carbs on the LT80's but I have modified them a bit. I've had 2 of the plastic floats crack at the reinforcement points and leak last Summer. Hate when the floats sink but can't complain about 30 yr old plastic.
Had to clean up the throat in the china carb a bit. It came with a 70 main & 35 pilot. The air screw did nothing on the LT50 so I jumped to a 50 pilot. Now the screw goes from too rich (closed) to too lean (3 turns open). Down to 65 on the main and still seems to rich. Going to leave it till the kids put some ride time on it and get a good plug chop.
Been trying to find a video host other than youtube. Tried this but haven't figured out how to edit anything, not even the title
So i'm testing here with my wacky Trail Tech tach video.
