2002 trx90 gas in crankcase
#1
Recently i tried starting up my 2002 trx 90 after sitting for about 10 or more years, i got it running after cleaning the carb and putting it back together but it would only run for about 6-8 seconds then sputter out, and about an hour later after sitting i went to try again and i lt wouldnt fire, and i checked the oil and lo and behold gas leaked into the oil, i dont know if it was there before or just now but i have no idea how it got there, i am completely new to bein a home mechanic

There is a drain tube from the float bowl, if the float needle sticks, fuel level rises and runs into the drain tube, usually a rubber pipe from it leads down past the crankcase, so the fuel runs onto the floor. If this tube is blocked or raised upwards, fuel can't drain down. So, the fuel level gets higher, until it runs down the inlet manifold into the engine or the airbox and on into the crankcase. The float needle must be leaking, and the drain tube blocked, or routed upwards, for this to happen. Fix both faults and change the oil.
