Countershaft play
#1
Hello everyone. I am new here and a new LT80 owner. I just purchased a 99 that was in a box for my 8 year old daughter. So I assume I will be pretty popular on here for awhile. I have been reading a lot of threads on here and all of you guys are very helpful. I am not able to find much on the countershaft and final drive. My question today is the countershaft hase a little in/out play to it, about a 32nd or so. Is this normal play or should it be tight? I have not opened up the gearbox (yet) and not sure if it has any common issues. I did find the cylinder was bored and has a 1 over piston. Both are scared pretty bad so I ordered a stock cylinder and piston to put back in. Not sure if that information was needed but there it is. Any other advice on this restoration would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! I cross posted this and not sure if that is appropriate? Let me know, thanks again.
