Bought my 2006 eton 70 4 stroke couple years ago.
I’ve had a problem with the charging circuit. I’ve replaced Stator, voltage regulator. I also put a new carb on as it starts hard, and the pilot in the old carb was broke so I could t turn it out.
Anyways I have noticed on the left hand side of machine there is a 2 prong plug with a black, and a yellow/red wire that is unplugged. But I can’t see where it could have gone to. Figured it was extra used on different models.
I’m pretty stumped. Once I jump start it it can be rode fine.
Have you checked with a voltmeter across the battery with engine running to make sure it isn't charging? You need the battery to have some charge in it before doing this. Check wires from battery at voltage regulator with an incandescent 12v test lamp to ensure you are getting power there, not just volts. Check wiring colours for wires from stator charging coils to voltage regulator and make sure they are connected.
I have the wiring diagram for the Apache100 which uses a Miarelli 2 stroke engine and the black is earth on that, with red/yellow being an alternator wire, so goes to voltage reg, also goes to auto choke and resistors.
