Help identifying engine
Hi all, ive done abit of research on this quad and finally found its a locin lx50 4 stroke, but does anybody actually know the type of engine.
its my first refurb project for my wee man and dont want to start ordering parts, wire harness starter motor etc until i know the exact engine.
Any help much appreciated.
On the side case it says kawasati

Honda 50 Cub clone. However it doesn't seem to have a gear pedal and the transmission on them is a bit of a mystery, never found any info on line, all the how to strip videos seem to be for the standard, geared versions. Loncin are well established Honda cloners and the crankcase will probably be stamped with something like 139FMA which is the engine "family number"
This won't help with wiring as it is specific to the chassis, though the universal harnesses for Honda cub clones will fit, provided you get one for the correct alternator. Almost always easier to repair the existing harness than fit a new "universal" one though.
