Picked up a little 05 Polaris 50 for my girls a couple weeks ago that I was told didn't run. Was told the top end was recently redone. So, I took everything off, cleaned what needed cleaning, starter gears/bearing, kick starter, clutch case, replaced stator, fuel lines, air box, filters, carb(cleaned first), plug, cleaned all electrical connectors, fresh premium non ethanol. Got it to fire and idle but only on half choke, would throttle up and go back to idle . Let it warm up but as soon as I take the choke off it cuts out and dies. I have good spark both cold and when hot. Compression test was 90psi after 5-6 kicks and holds (cold). A little low but should still run. Am I missing something?

 

Sounds a lot like a partly blocked jet. Not sure if you meant you changed the carb or just cleaned it, from your post but remove jets, blow them and the holes they came from, out with an airline and see if that alters things.
