already i have a red fox single seater go kart with 5hp motor on it and i want to lengthen my frame a lil bit cause i'm to tall for it and put some kind of big motor in it i would like to keep it automatic so what is a motorcycle engine or something that would fit on it also if u used like a banshee engine could u run throttle cable straight to carb would that make it automatic? and i wanna run atleast 50+mph and be able to get front off the ground on this thing heres my link click on the first picture and it will take u to some pics of my go kart www.geocities.com/yukongt2003/1.html thanks

If you run the throttle cable straight to the carb would it make it automatic? NO I don't want to go off on you so I won't but, if you want a big automatic, get an Odyssey 250 or 350 motor and then just find a way to mount it to your frame. I want to do this to my Kart but don't know where a motor is. Maybe you will have better luck

250 Odysseys are pretty cheap at $1000 for a nice one. They are an automatic and can lift the front end. If you put a bigger motor on a go kart, you will not get enough traction or be able to stop good. After you upgrade the axle, hubs, rims, tires and brakes, you still will not have as decent of a machine and will have spent just as much money.

A 350 Odyssey will not lift the front end because it is heavier with full suspension, electric start, reverse..., but is a much better machine.

you could use a trail blazer engine with a strait pipe out the back. the tblazer engines last along time and put out good power especially if you are used to a 5 hp motor.

If you think that chassis will hold up with a motorcycle engine in it, your nutz... Try finding a Brigg and Stratton motor, something like an 18 or 20 hp motor.

Snowmobile engines are awesomely powerful and fully automatic (and throttle cable has nothing to do with that...).
When I say powerful, I mean 170hp+ stock.

Snowmobile engine. Definitely Snowmobile engine. Cheap as hell and twice as common here in canada.

Used to have a Go-Cart with a 400cc Yamaha twin out of a 70's Sno Jet. 70 mph was not much of a problem. I still have the thing, its just got a 5hp briggs on it now. Hmmmmm. I have a complete nordic with a Rotax 400cc twin, and I still have all the stuff for the go-cart to bolt on the sled engine. Nahhh to darn old for that now. LOL
