Default 50cc in sand?

Has anyone ever taken their kids 50cc to the dunes. Is it worth it.

My daughter wants to go with me to the dunes, since she now has a four wheeler.
Btw its a scrambler.

I don't want to haul it down there if it just going to not go anywhere. TIA

How big/heavy is your daughter? My 4 year old rides his lta50 all around the small dunes near the washes at Glamis. If she isn't the size of an 8 year old, it should do okay in the small stuff. Don't expect it to climb anything major. Air down the tires so they get a good floatation pad.

When my son was 6 he had an Eton 50 and it would do ok out on the sand bar we ride at as long as the idle stop is out all the way.

Yea she's light, like only 40lbs. The little four wheeler moves pretty good with her on it.

Thanks.

I actually bought Skat Gliders for my son who is 6 and rides his Kasea 65 on the sand. I let the pressure way down so that you can almost touch the rim through the tread of the tires, and that thing goes almost anywhere on the sand. He can't do super steep stuff, but he can get up steep hills if he has a run at it.

I also removed the exhaust restrictors (the Scrambler has these too) and gave him a twist throttle so that his thumb didn't hurt so bad.

Good luck,
Dean

P.S. - Oh yea, don't forget to put a little extra air in the front to help them stay on top of the sand, you want as little resistance as possible from the turning wheels.

We have taken my sons little LT50 out many times, stock tires, and it does ok. He is a big boy though. I am in the market for an 80-90 now, because the 50 just cant get him up alot of the smaller hills.

He is only 5, but is 4ft tall and 85 pounds. Most times he stays close to camp with it. The 50s just dont go fast enough for a trail ride.
