Are the KOLT 4 Wheelers really made by Polaris?
I have never heard of Kolt 4-wheelers but my guess would be NO. Polaris doesn't actually even make the 50's or 90's. The only thing they do is make the plastics for them. But the polaris dealers will back them cause they do carry the Polaris name. Again I'm not 100% positive on this just what I've been told.

Yes the electric choke is a problem. Here is the solution. It's two fold. First, if the machine sits for more than 2 weeks the gas can and will go bad in the little, tiny carburator. Drain this gas or shut the gas off when you are done riding to avoid this problem. Second, the electric choke resets itself after about 5 seeconds of cranking on the starter. It then proceeds to stay reset (in the off position). Try turning the keyswitch off, wait a few seconds, then turn it back on. This tricks the choke into turning back on and should help start the machine. Hope this helps.

The Kolt is made by AlphaSport. This company is a little over 4 yrs old and is based out of Augusta Georgia. In thier first year and a half the quads were called LG 50's and LG 90's. Craftsmanship and parts were foriegn and substandard. The one i got for my sons pretty much fell apart around itself. Welds broke, cdi burned out, choked failed, went thru 3 rear shocks, plastics cracked at almost every hard point, ect.ect.ect.
Since then they have completely redesigned the entire line ( or i should say that is what was told to me after many, many calls to thier tech and R&D reps ) and are calling them Kolts. But pull the plastics off 80% of all these 50's and 90's and with few exceptions, thier all pretty much the same machines. Which is probably why I decided on the Bombardier 90.

The mini-quads coming from overseas have improved substantially since 2000, Polaris was the first company to up the quality on the mini's. The company decides on the quality of the mini they sell and then the overseas company builds to their spec. Although it is often difficult to communicate this to the foreigners. Some of the mini-quad distributers still opt for the less expensive quads "read that less reliabile, lower quality" then others. It all has to do with money.
