Lt80 needs some help
#1
I am working on a friends 1999 LT80 and I am stumped. It will start up fine and idle ok but falls on its face when you try to give it gas.(I have a 1991 and my friend has a 2000 and both are very snapy right as you tap the gas.) This one will hardly move and when it gets some speed it seems to have good power. I have swaped the carbs with his other LT80 and it ran the same. I pulled off the piston and it all looked fine. We put in a piston since we had it all apart. Still nothing changed. I have swaped the coils and still no change.I have raised the back end off the ground and reved up the motor and it is still not as snapy as my other quads. My friend bought this quad and did not know that it had anything wrong with it, so we do not have any history of the quad. Any help would be great.

Pipe restriction maybe.if not,,,What about the clutch's??? I think the brass on the front clutch broke / roller problem (gut feeling).

Yes I have checked the pipe and the restrictor had been removed it was one of the things we had hoped was wrong. As for the front rollers I did have the side case off and cleaned all rollers and put gease on them, cleaned all the dirt out of the rear clutch. I did not notice any thing wrong with the brass on the front drive face, but I was not looking for anything to be bad up in that area. I will check it out in the next few days and let you know what I find. Thanks for the help. Keep sending me anything you can to help. Ideas

I have had them out and looked them over but I do not know what would make them bad. once again any other help would be great thanks Doug
