Your post is full of holes.
First off, you wont get a cannondale for a grand, and cannondale's motorsport division doesnt even exist anymore.
Second, you cant compare either of these quads with a honda sportrax 250. That kind of inference boggles the mind.
Third, your teacher is an idiot if he believes that the frames will break because aluminum is hard to weld. Its not hard for professionals or machines.
Cannondale does not make atvs, you need to get them from ATK for now if you want new.
From your comparison to the 250, I think a warrior would be in your future.

Depends on your cup of tea. The blaze is a great xc machine, while the moto has the long travel suspension and other mx componenets.
If you are going to race mx, get the moto. If you are going to spend a lot of time on the trails or in xc, get the blaze.
However, if you are getting old cannondales, you need to make sure and do all the updates to them. They are not for those who do not like to wrench on their own machines.

Blazes and motos for a grand? Let me know where to show up. Ill take 20 of each. The Dale frames are made from heat treated aluminum . You dont have to worry about fixing them because unless your in some horrific crash they will never break. You sound way to young to be jumping on race quads anyway. I would recomend a 300ex or raptor 350 .
