Default please help!!!

ok this is my problem...i took my 03 cannibal out to make room in the garage for my other quad and dirtbike, then i started it up and drove it back in and everything was fine....later the same day i went out to cut the grass and i said let me start it up and let it run since it hasnt ran for a long time in a couple of days, well i go to start it up and it just clicked and wouldnt start. it clicked and then the efi sounded like it was tryin to reboot or something. so i didnt know what to do, i imedently tried to figure out what was wrong so i tried starting it with the lights on, and when i did the lights cut out and it just clicked and then made another very strange sound. i cant figure out whats going on...i thought that it was my starter and maybe the spark plug, i was hoping it wasnt the efi system but when u first put the key the efi sounds fine. now that i think about it (i really hope this isnt it but) the crank might have siezed. i bought the quad from a good friend who literally only rode it tens times if that, and since i got it i only rode it twice for a couple of hours. i need help from anyone that has the slightest idea of what their talking about. please help!!!! thanks

Charge the battery. IF the voltage drops below 12v the fuel pump will prime, but the ECU will not turn on. The starter will just click if its lower than 12v also.

Side note: Fuel injection should not make a noise. You will hear the fuel pump running that's it.

If your crank seized you would not be able to turn the motor over. Put it in gear and push it if the motor turn over your fine.

Check for all updates: Stage 8 or studs on crank plate, etc.

yea i think that ur right about the battery.... i let the whole quad sit over night as it was and then the next day i went to go see if anything changed with it, and the first two times i went to start it, the engine turned over and it sounded like it really wanted to start but it justed didnt have enough power. After those two times it just did the same thing as the day before...i tried to start it and it just clicked. im going to take the battery out check the connections, and charge it for about a half an hour then im putting it back in to see if it starts. if it does then ill just charge the battery for a good while, if it doesnt, i dont know what to do, but i think im going try to jump it and if it doesnt work when i jump it then i know its not the battery. if anyone else has any sugestions please add...thanks

Can you turn the engine over by hand with a socket on the flywheel? Check for metal in your oil filter. It might be hydrolocked also. Do a search on Cannondaleriders.com for info on these subjects.

no he didnt use jumper cables. he said it took him a good while to figure out what it was and he said if it happens again he knows what it is and he will fix it. i talked to his son and he said that there was a short in one of the wires in the battery but it was a brand new battery and somehow the short drained my battery. he explained it in great detail though. so i hope that helps u guys. thanks for all ur help

The stator wires behind the flywheel are very common to short to ground where the little clamp holds them together.AKA stator wire update. Also make sure the flywheel isnt rubbing on the stator from the inside. It will cause poor chargng.
