Default Almost found the oil leak

Well ive determined that the oil leak is between the bottom of the engine and the engine skid welded to the frame, anyone know what it is?

Could be a leaky sump cover gasket, drain plug, If you bashed the engine cradle on rocks it can wear a hole or crack the case on the bottom from rubbing. . Remove the engine cradle, wash the engine off and find it.

Make sure you support the front of the engine with a rope to keep it from falling forward with the cradle out.

You can wrap a rope or tie strap down under the starter and around the top of the frame to hold the front of the engine up. The rear is stil supported by the swingarm pivot bolt. Remove the 8 bolts the hold the engine cradle on and the one front engine mount. The cradle will drop down and you can see the whole bottom of the engine that way. It can be easily done in 30 minutes or less. If your skid has wore a hole in the bottom of the engine it can be epoxied in place and make sure to bend the skid down so it doesnt happen again. If the front engine mount is broken because the engine mount update wasnt done then it should be welded.

Yep thats common . Especially with the older headpipes. I posted a number for a replacemnet hose you could from a local carquest. Blackwidow should have them in stock to. Be sure to heat shielding is good.

I was thinking, either wrap the header with heat tape, or wrap the hose with the peel and stick heat shield stuff. The stuff that guards the plastic from heat on stock quads.
