hey i'm new here.. i just bought a 2003 cannondale speed with some mods. i won't start right now. supposedly it is just the battery that was the problem i got a new bat. and put it in and still didn't start ... when i tried to start it, it would just backfire and act like it wanted to start but wouldn't.. any one have any ideas or suggestions .. it would be appreciated??.. thanks ??

 

Probably fouled the plug from trying to start it with weak battery.Thats one thing about the Dales.Hit button once hit it again should start 90% of time and idle on its own.10% might take another try.After that something is wrong and needs to be corrected before trying anymore.Be it a low battery,idle not set right,throttle cal,spark plug,mixture or bad connection once everything is right they start and idle more consistently than any carbed quad can dream of.

 

Im will 27 change the plug andf let the cyllinder dry out. Weak batteries cause many problems.

Well if its gas in the cyllinder letting it air dry for a day should do it or hitting it with compressed air down the plug hole.
