Blown Pistons

that all depends on how much damage you does.. if you can stop your engine before she beats her self up then u mite only damage the piston and not hurt the wall or liner.. i am after overhauling many engines and just doing the piston and rings beause i could still see the honing marks on the liner. the worst fault about this situation is that every machanic got a different opinion lol. but if you did have to change the liner i cant see it being a big deal you only press it out and press the new one back in. sometimes they stick on me and i use a welder to run a bead of weld down through the liner on the inside and when it draws the liner will drope right out. i done a engine one time i made 9 passes before it dropped out, she was stuck really good.. hope this helps

A blown engine cylinder piston ring is a major engine mechanical problem that severely disrupts the normal operation of a vehicle's engine. Each engine piston has a piston ring that is responsible for sealing engine combustion gases within each engine cylinder, a job that is critical for maintaining proper engine power and function.

I heard about this a week ago from my friend. Dunno if its true though. But I think, it will depend on the extent of the damage.
