Now that I have finally got in some hours on my C-dale, I feel safe to say that I love this thing! The power is just awesome for climbing Hills, and the Suspension is wonderful for the 20-25ft Jumps that I like to hit. Once I got used to the High Compression stalling, I got to like it even better it just plain rips in the trails, I can say that I have flipped it already, with no damage done, it has a pretty light front end, and it will wheelie if you want it to. Another thing is the quality of this thing, of all the manufacturers Cannondale & Bombardier are the two highest quality machines made. I have a small 10-15min X-C track in the woods behind my house and my riding buddy has an MX track on his propierty and in a few days I will have some races with my riding buds and have results I will be racing with:

Bombardier DS650 w/Woods Stage 1
Honda 400EX-Stock
Honda 426EX
Honda 310R
Kawasaki Tecate-4 250 w/FMF Pipes, Ram Valves, and Port & Polish
Polaris Scrambler 440
Suzuki Quadracer 250 w/DG Pipe
Yamaha Banshee w/Pro-Circuit Pipes & Boost Bootle
Yamaha Banshee w/Toomey T5 Pipes
Yamaha Raptor-Stock
Yamaha Raptor w/+2 A-arms, +4 Axle, GTY-R Pipe

So we'll see who comes out on top in MX, XC, and Drags
I will also have some Pics, hopefully

Peace

out of all those listed i would still rather have your Cannon. Did you read on their website that they bored a Cannibal over to 454(cc)(don't we wish cubic inches) and raised the compression up to 13:1 or maybe it was higher. Then they took it to the drag competition and won several classes! and those were the only mods! the other reason i would rather have it is just to be the guy with the coolest quad around. 400EX's are so common, banshee's even more common, Raptor's galore, DS's are not AS common but there are still a lot. If Honda doesn't end up coming out with a new sport quad by next years line up, one of my EX's will be gone and I will hopefully have a Cdale MX quad!

It's nice to see that they bored and put those hi-comp pistons in, it's funny when I read people think this engine couldn't handle much more being it's at such a high state of tune all ready. The thing is C-dale didn't make the compromizes that Honda and Yamaha madeand built a real racing engine, so out of the box it's better but doesn't mean it's not buildable. I just hope we can start to see some go fast(er) parts for it soon, looks like I can only get a pipe and re-map at the momment.
I read that latest comp with the 400EX and the FX in ATV Action, what a joke. I don't understand how those guys can keep selling mags with that kind of dribble, I won't buy it any longer. Modifing the 400EX then saying it was a close race between the two, and if I remmeber right they did the same thing with the Raptor in the last test. Ah well as long as Honda keeps sending them money they can stay afloat, you notitice C-dale hasn't advertized any of their bikes or quads in these mags, it's great how they can produce a great product and rely on word of mouth and race results to do their selling.

i have the same problem hylton. I want a cannondale but there are no dealers in my area. Hopefully as they become more popular dealerships will pick up on the idea that people want these things.

High compression stalling???

Maybe the flywheel is too light?

The term "high compression stalling" just doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

R&S Performance sure looks like an awesome dealer. I came very close to buying one myself but I got a great deal on my 2001 400EX ($5397 OTD) and decided that was enough to spend on a toy. If I ever get bored with it I'll trade it in there and get one since modifying a 400EX isn't what I want to do. One thing for sure since Cannondale looks like they are actually interested in ATV racing (unlike Yamaha and others), I think bikes like the Laegar/YZ426 should be banned from the 250 Pro class. You should have to race a bike that you can go buy now(400EX,Cannondale), not spend $25,000+ on a machine to be competitive, it really will hurt ATV racing in the end since only the super rich will have a chance to compete. Unless you want to race an bike that is only getting older and older and more ragged out (250R).

Check out the August issues of ATV Action, and Dirt Wheels. I was told (did not see it myself, so I am just passing on the word) that there is a full page add for Cannondale in there.

Not trying to start anything, just might be something to look at.
