cannibal vs raptor

I too totally diagree with raptor18. Just admit that the cannondale is just plain out better. from ground up. apples and oranges blah blah blah. what are you talkin about. they are both four strokes straight from the factory are they not. you cant compare a modified quad to one that is not. and both quads are similar in price. it is sad that after all these years yamaha has been making quads, that a rookie to the business comes out with something way more advanced, faster, and lighter. you know those guys at yami are thinkin those damn Americans. i feel sorry for anyone who bought a raptor instead of a cannondale. in my opinion they didnt do there homework or just dont know anything about quads.

I agree the can out of the box is a better machine but the people that brought raptors went the same way i would have if i want a 4 - stroke why mods!! The can has hardly anything from the aftermarket call me weird but i dont like leaving my stuff stock.
By the way i dont MX i like drag racing and right now you can make a raptor faster that you could make a can.

OK, first off, this is going to come out wrong probably but, the Raptor and C-Dales are 2 different quads. Cannondale built an awesome quad straight from te factory, and there quads are geared more towards racer's or people who are have been riding for along time and want a good machine that handles good, was innovative, had a strong motor, and has good suspension, while the Raptor is more towards the "weekend warrior" who just wants something that "GOES FAST", and will beat there buddy's in a drag race, why do you think Yamaha went with the 660 instead of 426, because people will go for more CC's. I couldn't relly word this how I wanted to but I think most of you should understand where I'm comin from with this.

you all raise good points... but none of these points matter in a race.
you can whine and complain about how the cannondale rider beat you yesterday but you have better gas milage, or your quad will last longer because it's japaneese, but he still kicked your ****!
then I fly by and beat both your sorry *****...

I think you guys are missing my point with apples to oranges. I guess what I was missing is the final point. There is no way, period, no ifs, ands, or buts about it, that you can make a can go as fast as you can make a raptor. Period. and secondly, you cant hardly do anything to make a can faster. period. I hear all this smack about I beat joe blue with his nitro whatever. Bull. Come race, and I'll show you EXACTLY what I mean. Just another point I'd like to make, I haven't seen a 250R or Can, in any form, that can pull from my stock motored Raptor on a MX track(The suspension is all TCS, A arms, +1 swingarm though)If you think you can prove me wrong, and you're feeling really froggy, then jump. Lets Race

If you've never had a 250R or Dale pull away from you, that just means you're a good rider, not that they aren't as good as a Raptor. Johnny Hale rode at Badlands mx (a track that I ride at) and I garun-damn-tee you that he would pull away from you on his R. Now, I know he does race the Pro class in GNC but I'm just saying that to make my point, it is mostly rider. I've seen a guy on a mojave pull away from Banshee's! So my point is, "If you haven't yet seen someone on a R or Dale pull away from your Raptor, you haven't gone to enough tracks. I garuntee you'll be eating those words up sooner or later."

Hey Raptor18!!!Maybe you havent seen this several month old tidbit:
<< Cannondale Cannibal Dominates Drags! (7/10/01) As part of our never-ending testing program, we’ve been taking our ATVs to area dirt drag strips to find out how well we stack up against the competition. A few weeks back, for example, we took a totally stock machine to the New Paris, Pennsylvania track where test rider Andy Zeth and his Cannondale won both the 500 and 700cc classes on the 1/8th mile course.
This past weekend, we brought Andy and a slightly modified Cannibal to the Blair-Bedford track. The Cannibal had been adapted to a 454 bore with a 13.8 compression ratio, and we’d lowered the ride height a bit. Other than that, the only modification to Andy’s Cannibal was the addition of a wheelie bar that was designed by Brian Dively, fabricated by Dave Fleegle, and welded by Yvette Hahn, all of whom work at our Bedford, Pennsylvania motorcycle plant.
Going head-to-head with our Cannibal were several heavily modified Honda 400EXs, Yamaha Raptor 660s, and DS650 Bombardiers. So how did we do? The Cannibal beat everything in the 700cc class, covering the 500 foot course in a blistering 7.6 seconds and hitting 72 miles-per-hour! >>
I heard that Cannondale is experimenting with upping the displacement to 450 (as above)... They are making sure the reliability is there before they do it... Raptor18 and other naysayer beware ... Cannondale is a moving target !!!
My advice? Get a cdale while they are affordable.
