I may be wrong here but, couldn't you shave the seat foam down on the Cannondale or is it already thin? You know, like the FMX riders do.

Ok,I have owned both quads the FX400 and the 400EX.They were both
stock except my EX had 18 inch turf tamers and groved radials on
the front.I would say my 400ex turned better than my FX400 with
the diferent tires.
When I put the Radials & the tamers from my 400ex on my FX400,
and them hole shot from the FX on mx EX I would have to favor
the FX in the turns.
With the taller hole shots on the 400ex and the shorter turf tamers
on the Fx400 the top seat hight was just a little bit lower on the
FX.It sat about 1/2 inch lower than the 400ex.

It is easy to say that a 400ex with mods to make it wider, better tires, and with suspention work will out handle a stock FX400 or
cannable. But add the same mods to the FX and you will have a
very close match in handling.

To make a long story short, stock for stock in handling they are
prety close.

Motor wise,honda is in trouble.

The Cannibal has the same dry weight as the 300ex which is only about 3 pounds heavier than the 400ex. Thats comparing Hondamotorcycle.com and cannondale.com. Special, since you have owned both, I'm not going to argue with you. The ones that I have ridden handle better. Stock vs. stock, I can't say since I haven't ever ridden a completely stock 400ex.

Yeah, sorry about that. I thought I was looking at the 300ex when I was looking at the 400. Got a little mixed up. My bad. Oh, I got a e-mail from C-dale saying the stock ITP's on my Cannibal are aluminum. I thought they were steel. Or was it just the "newer" Cannibals that have the steel wheels and the older ones have aluminum?

all i know is we have aluminum, so maybe ours are a little lighter. those itp holeshots are also very heavy tires which add some pounds.
