Ohlin Cannibal or Speed??? Please help...signing papers

Hello all,
I was lucky enough to find a cannibal with the ohlin shocks, holeshot tires, and the reinforced swingarm at my dealer. But when I went I had my heart set on a new speed, but for $1000 more and all I am really getting is handlebars and a hydraulic clutch, is this really worth it? Is there any other differences between the cannibal and the speed?, I heard mapping, some say revs, are any of these true? I really want the faster bike so if there is something different in the engine I will probably go with the speed, plus I like the silver. Any suggestions? Thanks alot

Oh man, what a great choice! Thanks Cannondale!
If you have your heart set on the speed than do it.
It will be faster. Faster than you need probably.
Pick a color---Silver or that fine Red---

I was faced with the same choice in Jan. and got the speed. Still haven't quite fiured out all the differences. Someone said at one time the Ohlins are different, I've heard the silencers are different. I can't change the mapping on the fly without a $1500 kit from GP Control and I believe the Cannibal has the same computer so it should work on either. You should also be able to remap the Cannibal to the higher rev limit. There is nothing different in the motor as far as I know. My Speed does not have the reinforced swing arm.
This is a big mystery from Cannondale, if the Cannibal was built to spec it would be an easy decision. Given all the Speed parts on some of the Cannibals it seems there are only very small differences. If the shocks, wheels, and silencer are the same it's probably only clutch, bars, and mapping.
I wish someone would clear all this up.

I heard some of the cannibals are coming with the hydraulic clutch too. How can you tell? I sign on tuesday and still dont know what I am gonna do. It makes so much sense to go with the cannibal but man that speed looks sweet. Thanks all

When I called about a Cannibal the saleman told me it had the Ohlins and a Magura hydraulic clutch. You will be able to tell the difference between the Hydraulic and "regular" clutches. It should say Magura on the reservoir(sp?), your dealer can tell you if you don't know, also.
