HOW FAST ARE CANNONS
#2
The cannons only have problems w/ the chain slide. The best Cannon out there is the moto 440 for mx and the blaze for trails but the price is pretty high. They all have the same motor but the moto has more parts than the blaze, the blaze has more than the speed, and the speed more than the cannibal. I own the Cannibal and this thing hauls *****. I was at the track yesterday and I was having trouble keeping the front end down coming out of the corners... In another post you asked if they were hard to ride; they aren't hard to ride at all but it will take a little getting used to. You can rev the Dales so much more than anything else that when you first ride it, you will be "to easy" on it, and it likes to be ridden hard.
This is only my opinion. On the track (which is where I do most of my riding) it is good to let it rev. When I first got it, I always shifted gears WAY early and was running the RPM's very low but after a while I found out that it just works better when you ride it harder.

YoDaddy is right. The Cannondales love to be reved to the moon. A two stroke rider will not have any problems adapting to the power.
About the only machine that has a powerband even close to the Cannondales is the Banshee, but the Cannondale's hook up better than the 'Shee making it a better overall package for racing. Not to mention the light weight.

How fast are Cannons you ask?? well hows this I owned a Raptor that was piped, jetted and had the ProDesign filter kit. I thought the Cannondale was slightly faster but then it has been months since I had rode the Raptor. Last Friday I went riding with my buddy who bought a brand new raptor. His Raptor was geared way down with an 11 tooth front sprocket and the cannondale made the Raptor feel slow in comparision. He even commented on power difference but felt the Raptor had a more comfortable seating position and a much plusher suspension. I'm happy with my cannondale I exspecialy love the gear whine from the motor.
