bogging effect when I get on the throttle

Hey guys...
along those lines, I noticed when racing in the sand with my stock
cannibal yesterday, that when I hit 5th gear I seem to have a loss of
power. Not the punch that is there in 2,3,4th. I am running stock
tires, and hope that switching to paddles will help out. Hitting the
rev limiter on each gear, (and wishing it was at 11600) but when I go
5th, just seems to be no punch left. I've not run it out yet on dirt
to see how it does, (just broken in) I hope to get around to that this
week to try it.
Air filter was freshly cleaned and oiled up.

I'm by no means an expert, but I think that the "power loss" is normal for sand riding. I know on any quad that I've ridden with 6 gears, it's hard to pull 6th. My uncle owned my ATC250R before I did and took it to Christams Valley and couldn't pull 5ht with paddles. Were you winding out 4th gear before shifting to 5th?
