What do you guys think of the stock Ohlins? I mean, how high can you jump comfy when landing on the flat? How do they soak up whoops? How are they compared to the stock 400ex's shocks? I've read on here that the Cannibal shocks are too stiff, is it the same on the speed? Thanks for the reply.

The Ohlins are the same on the Cannibal and the Speed. They seem really stiff when your just sitting on the quad, but they soak up the bumps great especially at high speed. I'm not a big jumper (yet) but I think they would handle big jumps great.

I have gotten some pretty big air on my speed and the ohlins do very well.I weigh about 155lbs.They defanatly feel better than my stock ex shocks on hard landings. They could use rebound and compression adjustability though. That could be added to them though through ohlin, there rebuldable, unlike all other stock quad shocks. My 2 cents.

Hey Jay, man you have some good pics! Just seeing that pretty new Speed gives me the fever to go out and buy one as soon as I can rake up the cash!

The Ohlins on my Canninbal feel right on. They say that after about 10hrs of riding, they soften up. I hope they don't. They feel just as good as my buddies Elkas on his 400ex.

I had a problem w/ my frame hitting the ground on some jumps so I tightened them up. Well my frame would still hit the ground on some of those hard landings and those few times I came up short on a couple of jumps (in my first race) and I was wondering if tightening or softening the shocks up even made any difference as far as my frame hiting the ground? They are way stiff right now and I would like to loosen them but they are kind of stuck now but I can probably loosen them when I can find someone w/ another shock wrench. What do some of you c-dale racers have your shocks set on and how much do you weigh (if you don't mind sharing )?

Yo, strange huh!!!! It takes 2 spanner wrenches to adjust and they give you one. Can't figure that one out.

For the sand I have them set soft with no probs. For the woods and trail I set them in the middle and for the track I set them stiff.

I'm 6'-1" and weigh in at 215.

Haven't had the bottoming out problem yet.

Well, I rarely have that problem but I am getting to the point where I actually have the ***** to do the big jumps and well... lets just say, I'm still learning how far certain gears will throw me off of certain jumps (you know what I"m saying?) so I think I would probably have that problem w/ my old 300ex too, and a friend of mine has done it on his 400ex, so all you non-cannondale riders... don't think it's a c-dale problem.

I'm a skinny guy (6'1, about 155 lbs) so I think I'm just gonna set them in the middle and see how that does.

Yo, An easy way to adjust the front shock with one spanner wrench is to lift the front end off the ground and adjust the shock without any pressure on it. I have mine set on the lowest preload setting. Hope it helps.

I have been experimenting like YoDaddy says. I have mine set on the middle setting, and am 6'2" and weigh 195pds. I bet I have gotten 6 feet of air several times and have never felt the landing to speak of. They feel great, and no fade anywhere. Slow going seems stiff, but not anything anoying. One time I hit an unexpected drop off and landed hard onthe fronts, I nearly fell over thefront from my momentum, but I still dont think they bottomed.
