I just checked on the software. Price just went up to $500 for the diagnostics software which will let you load maps but not alter them. You need the calibration software to alter maps. I was ready to buy the diag kit for $300, but at $500 I need to rethink it.

What does altering the maps do? Change the power curve? Rev Limit? Sorry if it's been asked before, I don't unserstand fuel injection and would like to know some things about it!

All of the above, not sure all the technical details but the map controls all aspects of the fuel injection and I believe timing. With the software you could basically write your own maps.

So you mean that i could make it where I could start the quad and leave it on for under 5 mins without fouling a plug!
That'd be nice!!!!

ICAV,

Someone told me that the shop could adjust your offset of the injector. The tech at Cannondale said they richen up after breakin and that can be adjusted.

Nope, you will need the diagnostic software and than do it.

With that software you will also be able to download and update the maps that are provided by cannondale. You cannot adjust the individual maps without the more expensive software. Also I thougt about going in on the upgraded one with someone. The bad news is you can only work on TWO (2) different quads. This is from the Tech guy at Cannondale. The dealerships have different software to allow them to work on everyones ride.

So pretty much, the computer on the Dales is pretty much a CDI unit and carburator all in one right? Except for it is adjusted w/ software and not by hand.

Well, it's a little more complex than that, but you get the point.

SO you can or cannot share the software with another Cannondale owner?
I also wanted to know from someone who has it, do you have to buy a different version for a handheld pc or is it the same as the home pc version? It's windows based right?
