<< A friend of mine has a Moto440. He has raced it about 3 or 4 times. So far he has had a few problems but nothing major. He sent the shocks off to PEP and really liked them alot better when he got them back. Right now his computer is at R & S because everytime he lands from a jump it goes dead, so they are trying to figure out what is wrong with it. I rode it before he sent the shocks to PEP and it was really fast and pulled strong but the handling compared to my quad didnt compare (it two wheeled in every corner). As soon as he gets his computer back I am going to ride it and see if the shocks are any better. I will let you know then. >>

I saw the exact same thing happen to a kid at Mt Morris. It ended up being his crankcase sensor. It's the black sensor that is on the right side of the machine, right next to the cylinder. It has to do with the old flywheels. There is 2 places on the flywheel that the sensor "picks up on", it's telling the computer that it is out of time and shutting down the engine.

After thinking about for a while we ordered a Moto today. The biggest concern was the front shocks which is dual spring dual adjustable Ohlins. What I wanted was PEP zero preloads but Cannondale don't deal in them so they won't install them from the factory. I guess if the Ohlins don't workout will have to have them modified by some performance shop. Got a good price on the Moto and the delivery is 2 weeks.

Good luck Brian, Back in December I was told 4 to 8 weeks... It's been 4 months and still no shocks.... I'm hoping they'll be here today, I finally got the call back from them earlier this week finalizing everything - I sure hope they're worth the wait....

Mxracer98- Yea I will be at Red Bud (cant wait either). I will be in the 250B class #46. I ran the 16-24 class at Macon but decided to concentrate on 250B for the rest of the year. You might want to look into riding 4 stroke C and 250C. If I had a 4 stroke I would be running both.

crashed- I just called him to see exactly what was done. PEP made them zero preload, put some kind of extensions in them to make them have more sag, and set them up for his weight. Those were his words so I just quoted him. PEP charged him a $1,000 to do this. They also told him it would only be a month but it really took two. He said they did an excellent job on the shocks but their service was horrible and he would never use them again.

He got his computer back from R & S along with a new wiring harness. It wouldnt crank so he sent it back and they sent him a new computer. He got it and put it on and it still want crank so now they are trying to figure out what is wrong with it. My guess is that my buddy messed with it too much, like he has done with all his other quads, and has screwed something up. If its not broke dont fix it! Oh well I do hope he gets it running soon though because I know how he feels not being able to ride.
