Guys whats up with the stock suspension on the Cannibal it's super stiff and cannot be adjusted. I went for a 4 hour fast paced ride yesterday and this quad is brutal over the rocks and bumpy stuff. I guess the only way out is to pick up some aftermarket shocks or get these reworked. I did buy this quad as a demo so maybe they put stiffer front springs on it???? Is there a number on the front springs? My springs are so stiff that when I (195lbs) step on the front bumper it only compresses 1-2 inches.

My cannibal was the same way when I first got it. What I did was: adjust the front ohlins to the softest setting (they come set on medium from the factory) by dropping the adjuster ring on the top of the shock one notch which is the lowest setting. On the rear suspension I adjusted the **** at the bottom of the shock I believe it's the damper, something like 4 or 5 clicks to the left to soften it up, and on the reservoir/piggyback (which is difficult to get to) I adjusted it 3 or 4 clicks to the left to give it a softer ride. Hope it helps.

The good thing is that since you have Ohlins shocks they are rebuildable - which means that if you are unhappy with their performance, you can send them off and have them revalved and resprung to suit your weight, use, and preferences if you can not get them dialed in as currently setup.

No real need to replace them unless you want heavier duty shocks.

hey ChrisMac, adjust the front spring preload to softest like 44oRider said, and adjust the back as well. You do have to get all the plastic off and the gas tank removed to adjust the back. With your weight you probably don't need to move the back much at all. You might unbolt the a-arms in front and grease them with lithium/soap based and retorque to spec. Mine were really tight at first. The whole quad has gotten more loose with time on her. That's a good thing.

I lessened the rebound by about 12 clicks and the downed the compression about 6 clicks and it feels MUCH better on the rough tracks, but my front shocks still kill me... I have them set as tight as possible but that was a mistake .

the back shock does great but my fronts are horrible too. they are too hard for riding in mid 4th and below but feel too mushy on the jumps.

Have any of you guys moved your stop ring up on your front Ohlins?? I have and my a-arms are almost perfectly horizontal now, much more cushiony ride.
