How many hours on your bike did you switch to synthetic, also how many cycles of regular dino oil did you run through first. My dealer told me 10 hours bring it in for the 1st service or what ever, then run another 10 hours of dino (maxima) through then on the 20 hour oil change go to synthetic. Does this sound about right?

Also the weather SUCKS in ohio, its been raining since i got my bike last saturday, only got to ride 3 hours so far, but it is suppose to be 70 and sunny all weekend so I can't wait.

I was on the phone with cannondale discussing this very thing yesterday. All the quads now come with Maxima in the gear cases and spectra in the engines (used to run maxima in the engines too). Both synthetic. No switching involved, the manual doesnt even recommend a strait dino oil, semi synthetic or full synthetic only. and actually the first service or oil change is suposed to be at one hour and every 10 after that for the life of the machine. Those Cannondale people have got to be the nicest most polite people I have ever dealt with on the phone. First call I had to leave a message and figured I would never get a call back, well 45 minutes later they called back. Customer is #1 the way it should be.

 

I switched to full synthetic on my first oil change.

 

I went with semi-synthetic after my break-in as well..........JIM
