I just received a reply at another forum regarding our friend Corndog. He goes by the name of Sleeping Catfish at EXriders. The local dealer Corndog deals with just shed some light on the whole bad Cannondale situation. Terry Marcum (owner of Marcum's ATV in Florida) said that he's spoken with Corndog's father and he knows the quad has been wrecked hard a few times. Corndog also contacted Marcum's ATV in search of some missing frame rail bolts. Hmm, maybe loose or missing bolts from the frame rail lead to premature failure? Terry said the problem is definitely operator maintenance. He also said he's received phone calls wanting a free MC1000 upgrade.

Just wanted to relay some interesting new info. BTW, the thread is titled "Cannondale Cracked Frame" in the Non-Honda section at EXR.

Here is a little clip of what the dealer in Florida says: He bought his quad in Pennsylvania and I believe his dad told me he bought it used. I know he has crashed it a few times pretty hard. I was not aware who he was until now. I take care of my customers with extra care and service but that one has been long out of warranty I believe. Kinda like driving your car 150k when the warranty expired at 36K. I do remember an issue with him losing bolts from the frame rails and I am not sure what he replaced them with. I would have to call this one a maintenance issue if you know what I mean. I think this is the same guy that just called me wanting me to upgrade him with the new MC1000 computer for free because he bought a bike with the old system and was upset that I was selling reworked and totally upgraded Cannibals for 5K with full factory warranty. Don't get me wrong I am willing to accept any warranty work from anywhere but it is usually good practice to have a good repore with the folks you buy it from.

Terry

On the next "No Life to Live"... what will Corndog do now that the truth has been discovered.

Sorry, it's getting to be so much of a Soap Opra... It's actually kind of fun now that Corndog really can't say much or he'll get banned.

Well if the dealership has any trouble let us know. He says his Dad owns a law firm and was going to start with letters to Cannondale about the ecu thing.

If you have kids please monitor what they type from time to time.LOL

Yodaddy,
That "No Life to Live" stuff was great!...lol. This was a major revelation to show just how much weight people should give to Corncob's posts. "My frame bolts came out and I didn't replace them with the right bolts...err...I mean my frame broke and Cannondale OWES me a new one!"....yeah, whatever............JIM

if his daddy owns a law firm, why doesn't he just go out and buy a new Speed to shut the kid up?
